Hace pocos días, recibí un mail solicitándome asesoramiento para completar la información de un trabajo artístico relacionado al buzo, de una manera muy particular.
No dudé en prestarle todo el apoyo a mi alcance.

The Day of the Dead Diver

This is my newest Day of the Dead artwork, “El Buzo” (the Diver). It was actually something a customer mentioned to me in passing several months ago but I fell in love with the idea and kept mulling it over in my head until I got so tired of thinking about it I had to draw it.
My skeleton diver has his mask on, why I don’t really know – he doesn’t need it, but I figured it was like many a thing in our lives that we keep around even though we no longer need. There is some comfort in the familiar – even when the familiar is unnecessary. He is surrounded by seaweed and coral of many shapes and sizes. There is a large fish keeping him company and a school of much smaller fish in the background.
Currently the Day of the Dead Diver is not available but towards the end of summer is should be available in my limited edition prints along with all my other Day of the Dead (Dia de los Muertos) art.

Este es el último de mis trabajos artísticos Día de los Muertos, “El Buzo”. En realidad fue algo que un cliente me mencionó hace algunos meses pero me enamoré de la idea, dio vueltas en mi cabeza hasta que me cansé de pensarlo y lo dibujé.

El esqueleto de mi buzo tiene la máscara puesta, no sé realmente por qué-no la necesita, pero debe ser como tantas cosas en nuestras vidas que seguimos guardando aunque no las necesitemos más. Hay algo reconfortante en lo familiar-aunque lo familiar sea innecesario. Está rodeado de algas y corales de variadas formas y tamaños. Hay un gran pez haciéndole compañía y un grupo de peces más pequeños detrás de él.

Actualmente ese “Día de los muertos”- Buzo, no está disponible pero lo estará hacia el fin del verano en mi edición limitada de láminas-limited edition prints-, junto con otros trabajos artísticos “Día de los muertos”.
